Tim Hudak was first elected to the Ontario Legislature in June, 1995 as the Member for Niagara South and was re-elected in June, 1999 to represent the new riding of Erie-Lincoln. Under the Mike Harris government, Hudak had the honour of serving as the Minister of Northern Development and Mines, as well as Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Recreation. In 2002, Premier Ernie Eves appointed Hudak Minister of Consumer and Business Services.
A lifelong Niagara resident, Hudak was educated at Notre Dame College School in Welland. He earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics in 1990 at the University of Western Ontario and was awarded a full academic scholarship to the University of Washington where he obtained his Masters of Arts in Economics three years later. Before entering politics, Hudak worked in tourism and economic development.
Hudak has also served as the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Health and as the PC Caucus’ liaison to the PC youth associations and campus organizations across the province.
Since his re-election in 2003 in Erie-Lincoln, Hudak has served as the PC critic for Public Infrastructure Renewal, Municipal Housing, as well as the PC Caucus Chair. In August, 2005, John Tory appointed Hudak to the lead role of Official Opposition Finance Critic.
In August 2006, Tim announced that he would be running in the newly created Niagara West-Glanbrook riding. Tim wants you to be part of his winning team.
Tim lives in Wellandport with his wife Debbie Hutton, a Senior VP with Can-West Global.
