Kick-off BBQ a Big Success
JORDAN – Over 400 local PC supporters turned out last night to give acclaimed PC candidate Tim Hudak two standing ovations at the Niagara West – Glanbrook Provincial PC Association’s nomination meeting. Hudak, who currently serves as the MPP for Erie-Lincoln, will be running in Niagara West-Glanbrook in the October 4, 2007 provincial election.
Tim Hudak, MPP and John Baird, federal Minister of the Environment join the Beamsville Rams to kick off the 07 campaign.
“It has been an honour to serve the people as an MPP since 1995,” said Hudak. “Together we have accomplished a lot for health care, better roads and job creation. I hope I will have an opportunity to continue to work hard for the people of Glanbrook, Upper Stoney Creek, Grimsby, Pelham, Lincoln and West Lincoln beyond 2007.”
For the next provincial election on Oct 10, 2007, provincial riding boundaries will match their federal counterparts. Niagara West – Glanbrook will consist of the following communities: Glanbrook, Upper Stoney Creek, Grimsby, Pelham, Lincoln and West Lincoln.
Hudak was nominated by former Stoney Creek MPP and provincial Cabinet Minister Brad Clark, and former Lincoln MP and federal Cabinet Minister Shirley Martin. The Hon. John Baird, MP for Ottawa West-Nepean and President of the Treasury Board of Canada, was the keynote speaker at the meeting.
Local PC supporters were treated to a chicken and ribs BBQ from Billy Bones BBQ. A silent auction at the meeting raised over $250 for the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority Fund. Hudak was also joined by: Niagara West – Glanbrook MP Dean Allison, St. Catharines MP Rick Dykstra, Ancaster-Dundas-Flamborough-Westdale MP David Sweet, and Winnipeg MP Steven Fletcher.
“The loud and boisterous crowd at the kick-off BBQ tells me that we will have a formidable team of working families, seniors and youth dedicated to giving Dalton McGuinty the boot in 2007,” said Hudak.
